Handgun Operator Course

This program is for the responsible firearms owner who wants to gain the confidence and competence in the use of the handgun. We are going to teach you the science of speed and accuracy.

Instruction will be focused on the following:
Firearms safety, marksmanship fundamentals, loading and unloading, draw, malfunctions, reloading, use of cover, use of force, concealed carry, unconventional shooting positions, ready positions,  multiple shots, multiple target engagement, tactical priority, one hand shooting techniques.

Instructor Bio:
Sam Conway is a professional firearms instructor with over 20 years’ experience. Sam is an original member of the United States Army Marksmanship Units Action Pistol Team, a firearms instructor for the Georgia Public Safety Training Center responsible for the training of local, county and state law enforcement officers. Mr. Conway was previously employed by the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center. Sam is the owner of American Shooters Edge.

Requirements for the course:

• Minimum 750 rounds of pistol ammunition.
• Handgun (semi-automatic preferred) 9mm or larger, four magazines.
• Belt Holster, (No cross draw or shoulder holsters), two single or one double magazine pouch.
• Eye and ear protection. Range bag. Durable Belt. Notepad and pen, Black Markers. Hat. Comfort Items.

Rental Handguns are available for student use, the cost is $25.00 per day, and all ammunition must be purchased from American Shooters Edge.

A $100.00 nonrefundable deposit is required to hold a slot. Balance due on first day of class. We accept all major credit cards and checks.

As a special, all our courses with attendance of 10 or more paid students will include a chance to win a new Glock handgun.  The pistol will be awarded to the most accurate and fastest student in the course.
